My minds shifts autonomous to that of my body. As I mark, my consciousness shifts

At times when the mind is clouded and focus is needed. I sit with a repetitious intention.
For the duration of one hour the same word is repetitively spoken over and over again. This process explores the mediative state that is brought about through repetition and conscious thought.
This directed state of consciousness enables one, through repetition to transcend beyond the word itself and become embodied by the flow of the present moment.
Repeat (2015), Barcelona
4 x 1 hour Video Performance
A visual narrative driven by the urge to capture the passing of time; the external and internal.
The external worlds shifts are captured by taking a photograph from the same location, each hour for the duration of 24 hours. Concurrent to the external capturing; a polaroid is taken of the physical self on the hour for the duration of 24 hours.
Each constructed narrative subtly presents us with the concept that there is an endless totality of movement that is ever-present within ourselves and the world.

Intervals is a on-going series that explores the subtle shifts happening within and over time.
The process consist of remaining present with the immediate surrounding. A photograph is taken from the same location every 5 mins for a set duration.
The photographs are then merely a result of the process undertaken.
Series One: Merging Light (2017)

Series Two: Dancing Shadows (2017)
Duration 4 Hours, (2:00pm-6:00pm)
332 951 Lines
Each line drawn is counted.
Through the repetitious process of drawing and counting I explore the mediative state that arises when the body is focused on one physical motion, the mind on one thing.
Time then becomes somewhat timeless, bounded in each line.
